Composer, pianist, and war hero are all apt titles for Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia (1773-1806), who died a hero's death at the Battle of Saalfeld. He was a close friend of composer Jan Ladislav Dussek, who wrote Elegie harmonique sur la mort de Prince Louis Ferdinand de Prusse upon the Prince's death, as well as of Louis Spohr and Johann.
