Sammartini, Giovanni Battista

Italian Baroque composer Giovanni Battista (1701-1775) contributed to the development of the symphony. Sixty-eight of his own symphonies survive, along with other pieces of secular and religious music. Gluck was a student and Mozart was influenced by him.
