Italian composer (1905-1988) of strikingly original music in his later periods. His early music was influenced by Scriabin and Berg and Eastern philosophy. He considered himself a medium who received musical messages rather than a composer. His assistants transcribed his tape recorded improvisations and, after his death, some claimed to be his ghostwriters.
